When are guided tours of The Thoroughbred Center available?
April 1st through October 31st, The Thoroughbred Center offers tours once daily Monday – Saturday, at 9:00 am.
November 1st through March 31st, reservations are required for the 9 am tour Monday – Friday.
Can I just come and walk around the facility?
No. The Thoroughbred Center is a privately-owned horse farm. You must have a Kentucky Horse Racing Commission License or be escorted by an employee to be permitted on the premise. Self-guided tours are not permitted.
What is the cost for a tour?
Adults are $15, children (12 and under) are $8 and for groups of 20 or more, it is $10 per person.
What do I see on a tour?
You will have a chance to see horses during their morning workouts, observe trainers up close and learn about the care, equipment and methods used to keep the Thoroughbred horse in top racing condition.
How long do the tours last?
The tours last approximately 90 minutes.
Why don’t you offer tours in the afternoon?
Our tour schedule is based on when the horses train. Our track hours are approximately 6:00am to 11:00am so there aren’t any horses training in the afternoon.
Where is The Thoroughbred Center located?
The Thoroughbred Center is located 2.5 miles from 1-75/1-64, exit 113. Tours begin at the second TTC entrance which is located at 3380 Paris Pike. Turn off Paris Pike onto Johnston Rd and immediately right into our office entrance.
